At Clear Lake Periodontics, Dr. Robert DeVoll provides specialty care for patients with gum disease, bone loss, loose teeth, missing teeth, dental implant needs, denture concerns, failing implants, and complex treatment decisions.

Many patients come to us because they are unsure whether a tooth can be saved, whether implants are appropriate, whether dentures can be improved, or whether a major treatment plan is the right choice. Our goal is to explain the diagnosis, options, risks, benefits, timing, and next steps clearly.

Periodontal disease can lead to bleeding gums, bone loss, gum recession, loose teeth, bad breath, and tooth loss. We provide evaluation and treatment options ranging from non-surgical periodontal therapy, periodontal maintenance, minimally-invasive periodontal surgery, gum surgery, bone regeneration, pocket reduction procedures, laser periodontal therapy, and gum grafting.

Dental implants can provide a stable, natural-feeling, long-term option for replacing missing teeth. Dr. DeVoll evaluates the health of the gums, bone, bite, and surrounding teeth to determine whether implants, grafting, staged treatment, or another option may be appropriate.

For patients with loose dentures, missing teeth, or teeth that may not be maintainable long-term, implant-supported dentures or fixed full-arch implant teeth may be options. We help patients compare removable implant dentures, fixed implant bridges, All-on-X-style treatment, and staged approaches based on health, function, esthetics, maintenance, and cost.

If you have been told that teeth may need to be removed, or if you are uncertain about a major dental treatment plan, a specialist evaluation can help clarify the situation. We help patients understand whether teeth can be saved, what replacement options exist, and what may happen if treatment is delayed.

We provide selected oral surgical procedures, extractions, oral lesion evaluation or biopsy, and IV sedation when appropriate. For anxious patients or complex procedures, sedation options may help make care more comfortable.

TMJ and myofascial pain often stem from muscle overactivity, bite discrepancies, clenching or grinding habits, joint strain, stress-related muscle tension, and uneven forces on the teeth. Dr. DeVoll’s approach focuses on identifying and reducing contributing factors to protect the teeth, improve comfort, and help patients better manage muscle-related jaw pain over time. Treatment may include correcting bite discrepancies, custom nightguard appliances to protect the teeth, and Botox® injections for selected patients with overactive chewing muscles.
